MP CM to Unveil State’s AI Governance Roadmap at Regional Impact Conference 2026

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is set to present the state’s strategic roadmap for AI-driven governance and economic transformation at the Madhya Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference 2026 in Bhopal. This significant event aims to position the state at the forefront of India’s artificial intelligence revolution.

Conference Overview

Organized under the theme “AI-Enabled Governance for an Empowered India” by the Department of Science & Technology in collaboration with the India AI Mission, the conference seeks to strengthen academia-industry collaboration in AI and emerging technologies. It reflects the state government’s commitment to building a citizen-centric, transparent, and efficient governance model powered by AI.

A Confluence of Vision and Innovation

In conjunction with the roadmap presentation, the conference will launch the Madhya Pradesh Innovation Expo. This expo will feature:

  • India AI Pavilion
  • MP Pavilion
  • Start-up showcases
  • Hackathon arena
  • Start-up competitions

This creates a vibrant platform for innovators to showcase their ideas.

Key Announcements on the Agenda

The conference is packed with strategic announcements, including the launch of the Spacetech Policy, aimed at catalyzing innovation in the space technology sector. Several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and initiatives focused on youth and AI innovation will also be unveiled.

Core discussions will revolve around three high-level thematic sessions:

  • Technology-Led Governance for All
  • AI for Economic Growth and Social Good
  • Resilience, Innovation, and Digital Infrastructure

These panels will host experts from central agencies like Digital India, UIDAI, and NEPD, along with representatives from global organizations such as Google, Microsoft, Deloitte, and EY.

A Stepping Stone to National Summit

The Madhya Pradesh AI Impact Conference 2026 serves as a crucial precursor to the upcoming India AI Impact Summit 2026, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced at the France AI Action Summit. This national summit is scheduled for February 16-20, 2026, in New Delhi.

Additionally, the conference will conclude the MP Innotech Start-up Pitch Contest and the Ujjain Mahakumbh Hackathon, with winners being announced during the event.

Why This Matters Now

As India accelerates its digital public infrastructure and AI ambitions, states like Madhya Pradesh are taking decisive steps to localize and implement these technologies for grassroots impact. This conference is not merely a policy announcement but a statement of intent—to harness AI for inclusive growth, efficient service delivery, and positioning the state as a hub for technology and innovation.

The launch of a dedicated Spacetech Policy further signals Madhya Pradesh’s ambition to be a player in the new space economy. With top policymakers, industry leaders, and academia converging in Bhopal, this event marks a pivotal moment in shaping how regional governments can actively participate in and benefit from the country’s AI-led future.
