IAS Achieves ISO Certification for AI in Ad Solutions

IAS Secures Annual Re-certification for AI Use in Ad Fraud and Attention Measurement Solutions

Integral Ad Science (IAS) has announced a significant achievement in artificial intelligence (AI) management by receiving annual recertification for ISO/IEC 42001:2023, recognized as the world’s first international standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems.

Expanded Certification Scope

The company has expanded the scope of its certification to include the utilization of AI in its Quality Attention and Ad Fraud solutions. This move highlights IAS’s commitment to responsible AI practices, making it the only digital ad verification provider accredited with ISO 42001 certification.

Understanding ISO/IEC 42001

ISO/IEC 42001 is an international standard that provides a framework for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an Artificial Intelligence Management System within organizations. The certification audit was conducted by Schellman, an accredited ISO 42001 certification body.

Commitment to Ethical AI

According to IAS’s CEO, Lisa Utzschneider, “Artificial Intelligence is a core pillar of IAS’s long-term data strategy, and our expanded certification reflects our high standards for responsible and ethical AI across our measurement products and services.”

Utzschneider emphasizes the importance of trust in the modern advertising industry, stating, “Trust is a crucial key performance indicator, and we are committed to providing our customers with transparency and independent accreditation across our AI-driven solutions.”

Global Recognition of ISO Certification

The ISO certification is recognized worldwide as a symbol of safety, quality, and reliability. The ISO/IEC 42001 standards encompass various requirements such as:

  • Organizational strategy and AI governance
  • AI risk management
  • Data privacy
  • Responsible AI system development and deployment practices
  • Data quality monitoring
  • Human rights and fairness
  • Environmental impact
  • Human oversight over AI systems

Innovative Certifications

In addition to the ISO certification, IAS has also been an early recipient of TrustArc’s Responsible AI certification and is the first company to receive Ethical AI certification from The Alliance for Audited Media. Currently, no other company holds these combined certifications.

Processing Transactions at Scale

IAS processes an impressive volume of over 280 billion transactions daily in real time. In December 2025, the company unveiled IAS Agent, an AI-powered assistant built on the principles of “explainable AI,” further showcasing its commitment to technological advancement in the advertising sector.
