EC-Council Launches Enterprise AI Credential Suite to Close Workforce Readiness Gap
Cybersecurity certification, education, training, and services company EC-Council has announced the launch of its Enterprise AI Credential Suite, introducing four new role-based artificial intelligence certifications and updating its Certified CISO v4 program. This initiative marks the largest single expansion of EC-Council’s portfolio in its 25-year history.
The primary goal of the Enterprise AI Credential Suite is to address a significant challenge: AI is advancing faster than the workforce’s ability to manage, secure, and govern it. The suite is structured to reflect how AI capabilities are developed in practice.
Introducing the Certifications
The Enterprise AI Credential Suite includes the following key certifications:
- Artificial Intelligence Essentials: Serves as the foundation for building practical AI fluency and responsible usage across various roles.
- Certified AI Program Manager: Prepares professionals to manage structured AI delivery and accountability.
- Certified Responsible AI Governance & Ethics Professional: Equips practitioners to implement governance aligned with frameworks like NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 42001.
- Certified Offensive AI Security Professional: Trains security teams to defend AI systems against real-world attack methods.
The suite is supported by EC-Council’s Adopt. Defend. Govern. framework, which defines how AI should be operationalized at scale. This framework emphasizes preparing teams to deploy AI with appropriate readiness and safeguards while securing AI systems against threats such as prompt injection, data poisoning, model exploitation, and AI supply chain compromise.
Focus on Accountability and Governance
In an era where AI is transitioning from experimentation to infrastructure, the workforce must adapt accordingly. Jay Bavisi, group president at EC-Council, emphasizes the importance of these programs in providing professionals with practical capabilities across adoption, security, and governance. This enables organizations to scale AI confidently and with clear accountability.
Updates to the Certified CISO Program
In addition to the new AI certifications, EC-Council has updated its Certified CISO v4 program to include executive cyber leadership education for AI-driven risk environments. This update aims to strengthen leadership readiness as intelligent systems become integral to business operations and security decision-making.
Alignment with U.S. Workforce Development Priorities
The new certifications align with U.S. priorities in workforce development and applied AI education as outlined in Executive Order 14179 and the July 2025 AI Action Plan. These initiatives emphasize expanding AI education pathways and building job-relevant skills across professional and skilled-trade roles.
As organizations continue to embrace AI, the demand for a well-prepared workforce becomes increasingly critical. EC-Council’s launch of the Enterprise AI Credential Suite represents a significant step towards bridging this workforce readiness gap.
