AI Governance Solutions for the Future

Legal Expert Launches AI Governance Specialist Firm

Rock Consultancy, a newly established data-privacy and AI governance consultancy based in Dublin, has been founded to help organisations navigate the rapidly evolving terrain of artificial intelligence.

Founder’s Expertise

Founded by Elaine Morrissey, a solicitor with extensive data-protection and AI experience, including senior privacy counsel roles at global companies, Rock Consultancy addresses a current gap in the Irish market.

Morrissey, who serves on the Law Society’s Intellectual Property and Data Protection Law Committee, believes that, as AI continues to reshape business operations across every sector, the need for robust governance has never been more pressing.

“The time was right,” said Morrissey.

Specialized Guidance in Compliance

With expertise spanning GDPR, global data-protection frameworks, and emerging AI regulations, the consultancy is positioned to guide organisations through the intersection of privacy law and artificial intelligence governance.

Morrissey stated that, as the EU AI Act took effect and organisations grappled with the practical implications of deploying AI systems while maintaining compliance with data-protection obligations, businesses required specialist guidance that bridged compliance, ethical considerations, and operational implementation.

A Strategic Imperative

The consultancy’s approach recognises that effective AI governance is not merely a compliance exercise but a strategic imperative.

With data-protection regulators worldwide increasing their focus on AI systems, organisations need frameworks that not only meet current regulatory requirements but are adaptable to future legislative developments, Morrissey added.
