AI-Driven Compliance: IG’s Revolutionary Marketing Transformation

IG Turns to AI to Transform Marketing Compliance

Adclear, the financial promotions platform, has announced a partnership with IG, a leading investing and trading platform, to leverage the power of AI across marketing compliance. This collaboration aims to enhance existing processes, ensuring that all marketing, social media, website, and product content adheres to the latest “finprom” rules and regulations.

AI Implementation and Benefits

Following a successful pilot, IG has rolled out Adclear’s AI across its UK&I marketing and compliance teams. The technology will analyze marketing content and rapidly flag any necessary changes to ensure promotions comply with relevant regulations. This encompasses marketing materials promoting stocks, shares, ETFs, cryptocurrency, and more advanced trading products across wider global markets.

The integration of AI reduces the traditional “back-and-forth” review process, allowing teams to streamline compliance approvals while keeping pace with modern marketing demands. In the initial weeks post-launch, IG has already experienced a significant acceleration in its compliance approval process and an increase in first-time approval rates.

Regulatory Landscape

IG Group recently became the first retail broker to secure a FCA Crypto License in the UK. As the financial watchdog continues to consult on new rules for crypto firms, finance brands are actively seeking AI-powered solutions to enhance and expedite their compliance processes amid a shifting regulatory backdrop.

Adclear’s AI is trusted by marketers throughout the financial sector to ensure that financial promotions adhere to relevant regulations while providing a comprehensive audit trail for compliance teams. This technology is already in use by IG Group-owned fintech Freetrade, as well as other significant players like Lloyds Banking Group, PensionBee, Yonder, Trade Nation, ActivTrades, and Ocean Finance, including one of the world’s largest crypto exchanges and the UK’s largest neobank.

Future Outlook

As Adclear’s AI platform is rolled out more broadly, it will continue to assist teams across IG in speeding up compliance reviews and producing clear, impactful content, including press articles, social media posts, and digital advertisements.

Elise Ash, Marketing & Growth Director at IG, commented, “Forward-thinking finance brands need to keep pace with modern marketing techniques, but we can’t afford for that to come at the expense of accuracy and compliance. This technology allows us to deliver on both fronts simultaneously.”

She further noted, “Prior to Adclear, getting creative and marketing content signed off within our target approval window was challenging. Our compliance teams were already very busy, and the volume of content we were asking them to review was only growing.” Since the full roll-out of the AI, IG has seen 87% of assets approved on time, indicating a significant improvement.

Doni Hoti, CEO & co-founder of Adclear, emphasized the need for robust, accurate processes in light of evolving FCA and ASA regulations. “With new rules—especially those concerning cryptoassets—set to come into force later this year, compliance is under an increasingly bright spotlight. Firms like IG need efficient processes to meet this demand, and we are excited to partner with them to unlock a new chapter for their compliance at such a critical time for the sector.”
